The Oscia Theatre Awards is a theatre-recognition program created to honor artists and productions with integrity, dignity, and professional excellence. More than a ceremony, the awards are a commitment to ensuring that outstanding theatrical work is seen, valued, and preserved.

WHY THE OSCIA THEATRE AWARDS EXIST
Theatre is created through the collective work of performers, directors, writers, designers, technicians, producers, and countless others whose contributions bring each story to life. That work deserves to be witnessed, valued, and remembered.
The Oscia Theatre Awards exists to recognize artistic achievement with dignity, preserve the history being made within theatre communities, and affirm the cultural importance of the artists and productions shaping the stage.

We believe excellence should never go unnoticed—and recognition should be thoughtful, credible, and worthy of the work being honored.
HOW RECOGNITION WORKS
01 — PRODUCTION REGISTRATION
Eligible productions register for consideration and provide performance information and access for Oscia Theater Council Fellows.
02 — PERFORMANCE ATTENDANCE
A panel of five to seven Fellows attends a public performance of the registered production.
03 — INDEPENDENT EVALUATION
Each Fellow evaluates the production independently using established criteria and submits a secure digital ballot within 72 hours. Fellows do not discuss the production before submitting their evaluations.
04 — RECOGNITION
Results are compiled and reviewed through Oscia’s internal oversight process. Nominees and recipients are recognized publicly, while individual scores and internal evaluation records remain confidential.
THE OSCIA THEATER COUNCIL
The Oscia Theater Council is the evaluation body of the Oscia Theatre Awards. Its members, known as Fellows, attend eligible productions and assess the work using established evaluation standards.
Fellows complete integrity training and are expected to approach every production with fairness, thoughtful judgment, and respect for the artists involved. Each evaluation is completed independently, without outside influence or discussion before submission.
Council officers support the administration and oversight of the process, while evaluation scores are determined by the Fellows assigned to each production.

The Oscia Theatre Awards will establish regional programs rooted in the distinct theatre communities they serve while remaining guided by the same principles of integrity, dignity, and artistic excellence.
ATLANTA — AUGUST 2027
The inaugural Oscia Theatre Awards will launch in Atlanta, recognizing eligible productions and the artists whose work contributes to the city’s vibrant theatre community.
LOS ANGELES — 2028
The awards will expand to Los Angeles in 2028, creating a dedicated platform to recognize and preserve the artistic achievements of the Los Angeles theatre community.

Each city will have its own regional evaluation process and Oscia Theater Council while upholding one consistent standard of credible and meaningful recognition.
FOR THEATRES AND PRODUCTION COMPANIES
The Oscia Theatre Awards considers eligible public theatrical productions presented during each city’s designated awards season. Theatres, production companies, and independent producers may submit their work for consideration.

Participation begins with registration and an invitation for assigned Oscia Theater Council Fellows to attend a public performance. Registering a production does not guarantee a nomination or award.

Complete eligibility standards, submission deadlines, attendance requirements, and evaluation criteria will be published for each regional season.
